Society Office Changes Several Procedures (2009)
  Over the past few years, the Society has received numerous comments from members that they would like to receive their members-only print and membership brooch faster. So we re-evaluated the fulfillment processes for the prints and brooches, and we’ve made some changes to make this happen.

Your 2009 members-only print is the first print that you won’t have to wait until the following year to receive. This is very exciting! Now when you order your print, your gallery will include it with its next Moss order, and you won’t have to wait until 2010 for the print to arrive.

When ordering your print, please keep in mind that it might take a while for your dealer to compile a Moss order, but even if it takes a month you’ll still get your print more quickly.

Not only will you get it sooner, but if you order your print within about 60 days of receiving your certificate, you’ll receive a special $5 coupon that you can use at www.pbuckleymoss.com! This coupon is also based on membership feedback. Complete details on how to receive this coupon will be listed on your redemption certificate.

When re-evaluating our procedures for our brooches, we noted two parts that slowed the process down the most. First was the assembly of our jewelry boxes. We had two different styles of jewelry boxes and each brooch/pin had a different cardboard/felt insert. This made for a nightmare to keep inventory of and to fulfill orders.

We have designed a new jewelry box that comes completely assembled (no special inserts), is a size that will fit all our brooches and pins, and is made of cardboard that is much lighter and more eco-friendly than our previous boxes. This new box helps to speed up our fulfillment process greatly.

The second part that slowed down fulfillment was the numbering of brooches. The time involved with hand numbering each brooch was massive. Last year we conducted surveys and informal questionnaires of members about how they ranked having their membership number on their brooches. It consistently ranked low. With this feedback from members, we decided to stop numbering the brooches. (A few of the early brooches the Society released did not have membership numbers on them.)

These few changes have greatly reduced the time it takes to fulfill memberships. With the Society office staff getting smaller and with these tough economic times, this is a big help in making sure the Society continues many of its charitable works.
