Rock Around the Clock with Pat
At the upcoming Moss Convention in Kingsport, Tennessee on May 8th the P. Buckley Moss Society is sponsoring a dinner dance entitled "Rock Around the Clock with Pat." This ticketed event is a fund-raising event to benefit the P. Buckley Moss Foundation for Children's Education.

2004 Cary Scholarship Winner
Kristin Eckard of Warren, Ohio, is the eighth recipient of the Judith Cary Scholarship. A 2001 graduate of Baldwin-Wallace College with a degree in psychology, Kristin is now pursuing a BA in Special Education from Youngstown State University where she maintains a 4.0 GPA.

2004 Harbison Scholarship Recipient
Each year the task to choose the winner of the P. Buckley Moss Society — Anne and Matt Harbison Scholarship seems to become more challenging. This year was no exception. Bethany Elkins of Dayton, Ohio, is the 2004 recipient of the $1,000 renewable Harbison Award. Her dyslexia was diagnosed in first grade when her inability to read caused frustration and hopelessness.

2004 Presidents’ Award Winner
Longtime Moss collector Deb Weisgerber of Defiance, Ohio, is the second recipient of the Presidents’ Award. Honoring the past presidents of the Society, the $1,000 award is given for improving the education and well being of children.

2004 Convention Again Fun Time
Any of you who did not attend the July 23-25 convention at Ames, Iowa, missed a super time. Bill Abigt of M & J Gallery in Ottumwa said this dinner dance was the most fun of any he had attended.

2004 Chapter Training Inspires Participants
"Red, White, and Blue & Moss Too" was the patriotic theme of Chapter Training weekend in Charlottesville, Virginia, on August 6-8. Twelve chapters decorated the tables for Friday night's opening Moss Rally. Following the presentation of colors from Eagle and Life Scouts from Troop 241 in Charlottesville and a light supper, attendees worked in pairs to learn about each other and create a paper quilt square representing themselves. By the end of the evening, the paper quilt had been pieced together and displayed as a work of art.

Annual Board Report for 2004
Donations of art and cash made by the Society during 2004 exceeded $91,900.
