Society Birthday Party Fundraisers!
2007 is the Society's twentieth anniversary! We are planning several fundraising parties.

Board Establishes Scholarship to Honor Pat
Your Board of Directors is excited about a special way we will all be celebrating the Society’s twentieth birthday in 2007. At the November 2006 meeting, the board members approved a resolution to establish an endowed scholarship in Pat’s name in conjunction with the Foundation.

Iowa Birthday Party
Our first birthday party will be at Blank Park Zoo in Des Moines, Iowa, on Saturday, April 28. Wine and gourmet hors d’oeuvres catered by an excellent local restaurant will be included. Attendees will receive a black and white Moss print. Cost for this fun party will be $37.50 per person. A number of fun fundraising activities will occur.

Virginia 20th Anniversary Gala
Our second 20th anniversary celebration will be at the Museum in Waynesboro on Friday, June 15. Wine and elegant hors d’oeuvres catered by South River will be included. Cost for this formal black-tie optional event will be $50 per person. The live auction items will be spectacular. Pat has generously donated a week’s stay at her house in Cortona, Italy. She also donated a weekend at her condo at Wintergreen, Virginia.

Kelley Reeves Receives 2007 Harbison Scholarship
Rick Witt of William Byrd High School in Vinton, Virginia, wrote, “I was told many years ago that I would teach about three or four young people that would stand out above the rest in a way that would be indescribable. Kelley Reeves is one of about three I have had and, quite honestly, she would have to be the top if I was made to pick.”

Brandy Reeves Receives 2007 Cary Scholarship
The eleventh recipient of the Cary Leadership Memorial Scholarship is Brandy Reeves of Fairbanks, Alaska. A 2006 graduate of the University of New Hampshire with a major in studio art and a minor in education, she is now working on her master’s degree in Special Education from UNH in Durham, New Hampshire.

Pennsylvania Birthday Party
Join us at the Lancaster Host Resort on July 21 for a fun western round-up dinner dance. This party is the last event celebrating the Society's 20th anniversary. Held in conjunction with the Moss Convention it's sure to be a great time.

Crossman Receives 2007 Endowed Scholarship
The initial recipient of the $1,500 P. Buckley Moss Endowed Scholarship is Fallon Crossman of Rowley, Massachusetts. Fallon easily fulfills the three major criteria for the scholarship.

Sarah Baird Receives 2007 Presidents' Award
The fifth recipient of the Presidents’ Award is Sarah Baird of Hemlock, Michigan, a special education teacher at St. Charles Elementary School in St. Charles. Having struggled with a learning disability herself (ADHD), she decided long ago that she wished to help others who struggle with learning.

Annual Board Report for 2007
As of October 31, 2007, donations of art and cash made by the Society during 2007 exceeded $81,000. This amount includes 433 fundraising events supported by donations from the Charity Print Collection valued at $38,961; the 266 events completed in 2007 that have reported their results have raised over $91,500. This amount also includes $20,000 donated to establish an endowed scholarship fund in P. Buckley Moss’s name.
