Society Cookbook "Recipes for Touching Lives"
The Society is preparing a unique cookbook featuring favorite recipes from members and friends nationwide. Our hardbound cookbook will contain beautiful Moss images in full color and is sure to become a collector's item. We have chosen "Recipes for Touching Lives" as the title for our cookbook. It will be more than just food recipes; it will also include anecdotes about how the Society, Pat, and Pat’s art have touched the lives of others. This content is what will make it unique, meant to be read, and different from all the other cookbooks out there.

Society Earrings Coming Soon!
Based on Society brooches and pins, four pairs of earrings in a round shape are being made available. They will be 1 1/8" in diameter and made of the same thin, lightweight porcelain from which the Moss ornaments are made. The setting will be gold plated. The pierced ear drop finding will be similar to (but may vary slightly from) what is shown on "Hug Me." Cost will be $35 plus $2 shipping. These will make wonderful gifts! Alyssa Foster Receives 2009 Endowed Scholarship
A June graduate of Mid-Prairie High School, Alyssa Foster of Riverside, Iowa, is the recipient of a $1,000 award from the P. Buckley Moss Endowed Scholarship. Alyssa is a self-motivated student who often goes above and beyond what is asked in order to fulfill the assigned task. She has been very active in her local FFA chapter, as well as in 4-H. She has served her school’s student body as both vicepresident and secretary and has participated in track and cross country. She has also been very active in her church’s activities.

Mellay Gardner Receives 20009 Harbison Award
The 2009 recipient of the Harbison Scholarship is Mellay Gardner of Salem, Ohio. She grew from a struggling nonreader to become a class valedictorian. Diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia when she was three years old, she received high-dose chemotherapy from that time until age six. This treatment resulted in traumatic brain injury, which manifests itself in deficits in attention, processing speed, visualmotor skills, cognitive flexibility, working memory, and fine-motor coordination.

Muneera Fontaine Receives 2009 Cary Award
The thirteenth recipient of this scholarship is Muneera Fontaine of Ft. Worth, Texas. She is pursuing her doctoral degree from the Interdisciplinary Council on Developmental and Learning Disorders. Muneera was the little girl who always played teacher in her room with her dolls and stuffed animals. She stated, “I would set up a play chalkboard and line my dolls up in rows and instruct them on their ABC’s.”

P. Buckley Moss Documentary
WVPT, Channel 51 in Harrisonburg, Virginia, has completed its documentary about Pat Moss, “The Lady Behind the Brush.” The DVD can be ordered through your dealer or from The Moss Portfolio for $24.95. Any Moss fan or chapter would enjoy viewing this outstanding story of her life. We would also encourage members and chapters to have their local public television stations purchase and show this documentary.
